  3. GIA Coming to the Equitable FHSA Many clients have already taken advantage of Equitable’s First Home Savings Account (FHSA), available on Pivotal Select™ Investment Class (75/75) and Pivotal Select Estate Class (75/100).
     
    And now, we’ve got some more great news. We’re working to expand the Equitable® FHSA to include our Guaranteed Interest Account (GIA). But clients don’t need to wait to start earning tax-free income in a FHSA.
     
    If clients want to open a FHSA now but may be interested in an Equitable GIA,  simply choose the No-Load Equitable Money Market Fund Select investment option while we work on including the GIA on FHSA. The current yield to maturity is 5.41% gross.1
     
    We will let you know when the GIA is available in FHSA in the coming months. Once it is available, advisors can speak to clients about the GIA options available in the FHSA and select what best suits their needs.

    Don’t forget, clients who make a contribution to their FHSA, RRSP or TFSA between January 1 and February 29, 2024, could win $5,000 and you could win $1,000 in Equitable’s New Year’s Resolution, New Year’s Contribution Contest.2

  7. Enhancements to ID Verification and Business Forms

    We have made enhancements to some of our forms and created an additional form to help make it easier for you to do business with Equitable Life®.
     
    The first enhancement is an update to the ID Verification section to allow for Third Party ID Verification when a client doesn’t want to provide ID documents to an Advisor. They are now given additional options to either use the Alternative Identification requirements, or consent to Equitable Life verifying their identity through a third party service provider. We’ve also clarified in the Advisor declaration that they can’t sign for their own policies as they aren’t able to validate their own ID.

    The above changes have been made to the following forms:

     
    The second enhancement is an update to Business forms. We’ve created a new form, 2004 Signing Authorities Certificate, to help Businesses provide the Signing Authority information needed more easily!  Forms 594 and 682ENT have been updated to point to the new Form 2004 and also have new “Ownership structure” requirements added in section 2.

    Necessity is the mother of invention. And COVID-19 has taken Equitable Life’s® EZcomplete® online application to the next level. Prior to the pandemic, EZcomplete was touted as being convenient and easy to use. Well, it is. But now…it is so much more.

EZcomplete simply requires verification of ID using a third-party service provider. The third-party service provider completes the verification behind the scenes using information that was already required to complete an application.     EZcomplete’s electronic signature functionality is also easy and secure. To enable a remote signature, your client just provides an e-mail address. Your client will receive a link and security code that you provide. The client enters the code, reviews the application and e-signs the documents.

  9. Things keep getting EZer with Equitable and EZtransact! Equitable® continues to make great strides with our digital self-serve tool, EZtransact®. To keep this momentum, we’ve given EZtransact a fresh new look and feel, with additional transaction management changes and a new dashboard to enhance your online transaction experience! This refresh embraces our new brand, as we continue to focus on making it easier for you to do business with us.

    What’s new with this update?
    New dashboard for client search
    • The existing client search screen has been replaced with a new user-friendly dashboard.
    • Upon accessing EZtransact, all contracts associated with the user’s EquiNet ID will be displayed.
    • Users can refine the results and search by client name or contract number.
    Transaction management
    • Transactions submitted through EZtransact within the last 12 months are available, including their status.
    • Transactions that have received all signatures will now allow the user to download a copy of the signed request and any supporting documents uploaded by the user.
    • Transactions that are pending client signatures will allow the user to manage and track the e-signature process:
      • Signing packages can be resent to clients who have not completed their e-signature.
      • Clients can be unlocked through the dashboard if locked out due to too many invalid attempts.
    Signing process changes
    • Advisor and dealer/MGA stakeholders have been removed from signing information and review screens.
    • Users are no longer required to provide an email address for the dealer/MGA to submit a transaction.

    New “Update Payment” feature for banking changes has launched!

    Great news! We have launched a new self-serve "Update Payment" feature in Client Access and on EquiNet®. This new online capability enables clients and advisors to easily submit key banking change requests for eligible insurance policies*, with no need to complete a physical form.  
    *The Update Payment transactions are only available for eligible policies: those that have not lapsed, are not on Automatic Premium Loan, and are not owned by a corporation or other entity.

    What’s new? Clients and advisors can now submit banking changes via EquiNet under Policy Inquiry. It allows them to easily submit requests for the following: stop and resume pre-authorized payments or change banks. Learn more
