  5. Cloud DX, Signs Contract with Heart Centre Our partner, Cloud DX, has signed a 3-year contract with an Ontario hospital to help put patients with congestive heart failure at ease.

    Cloud DX’s digital health platform works to improve healthcare delivery, provide better care outcomes, and lessen the burden on our national healthcare system. Now, an Ontario heart centre will use the Cloud DX platform to improve its patient monitoring services.

    Cloud DX is a value-added service for Equitable Life’s Critical Illness claimants. Cloud DX delivers clinical grade hardware directly to the client so that they can remotely monitor the client’s vitals to help ensure they stay on the road to recovery*.

    *Cloud DX is a non-contractual benefit and may be withdrawn or changed by Equitable Life® at any time. To be eligible for the Cloud DX offering, a claimant must be age 12 or older and have received payment on or after February 12, 2022 for a covered critical condition benefit under an individual critical illness insurance policy issued by Equitable Life. An early detection benefit payment does not qualify. Equitable Life pays for 6 months of Cloud DX subscription fees. If the claimant wishes to continue the Cloud DX service after 6 months, they will be responsible for the cost. The claimant must supply their own device to connect to Cloud DX app– a laptop, tablet or cellphone.  As well, the claimant needs to supply their own data or internet service.

    ● Great news! We recently introduced new additional payment methods for clients making their first and subsequent annual insurance premium payments.
    ● And - we're thrilled to introduce a new lower annual premium requirement of $2,500 for clients who wish to pay their annual premiums by Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD)!

    Improved forms for requesting in-force illustrations
    ● We understand the importance of efficient workflows, and that's why we have recently updated and improved the following forms to make requesting inforce illustrations even easier:
    ● Term, CI & Whole Life Illustration and Quote for inforce policies

  7. New flexibility with Equitable’s Term Exchange option Great news! Equitable® has just added our Term 30/65 plan as an option for term exchanges! This gives clients greater flexibility to choose a term plan that can adapt to their specific needs. 

    Clients can exchange their Equitable 10-year or 20-year term plans to a Term 30/65 plan as their financial needs change – without additional underwriting.

    What you need to know:

    •    A term plan that is a result of an exchange option cannot be exchanged again
    •    Exchange is available between the 1st and 5th coverage anniversary. 
         o    Only up to the insured’s 65th birthday for exchange to T20
         o    Only up to the insured’s 55th birthday for exchange to T30/65
    •    To request a term exchange, use the Term Exchange form.

  10. Paper Pivotal Select applications (Form #1383 and #1384)


    On April 27, 2020 Equitable Life® launched its NL-CB sales charge option to its Pivotal Select™ segregated fund lineup. The new option provides an additional choice to the existing Low Load (LL), No Load (NL) and Deferred Sales Charge (DSC) selections. To reflect the new sales charge option, Pivotal Select applications (Form #1383 and #1384) were updated.

    The paper Pivotal Select applications (Form #1383 and #1384) with a version date prior to 2020/04/27 (located on the back page and in the bottom right-hand corner of the application) will no longer be accepted as of July 1, 2020. If you currently have applications with a date that is before 2020/04/27, please destroy them and order new applications from our Supply Team. To order new applications, click here.
