    What’s new in this product update?
     
    1. A new premium rate band for Equimax® policies with $5 Million and more of basic  life insurance coverage.
    2. A new illustration for switches from Paid-up Additions (PUA) to the Cash dividend option when premium offset is selected.
    3. A new way to calculate commission on Equimax life insurance, Term life insurance, and EquiLiving® critical illness insurance plans when clients choose monthly payments.
    4. A new life Evidence of Insurability Schedule (Form #1343)

  3. What’s new in EZtransact We’re excited to introduce the latest enhancement for EZtransact™, our digital self-serve tool. EZtransact now allows you to help clients:

    •  Easily make segregated fund withdrawals. This functionality is available for all account types, and for the First Home Savings Account, it also eliminates the need to submit additional CRA paper forms.

    •  Transfer from one fund to another fund digitally, within the same policy and same sales charge options.

    These enhancements make it easier than ever to do business with Equitable®. They will help reduce your time spent on paperwork, allowing to you focus on more value-add time and services for clients.

  4. Easier than ever with Equitable and EZtransact Equitable® keeps improving our digital self-serve tool, EZtransact®. Our latest enhancements make it easier than ever to do business with us.

    What's new?
    Dollar cost averaging transaction
    • Advisors can now submit new dollar cost averaging requests through the Fund Switch transaction in EZtransact. A new recurring switch type is available.
    • When submitting a new request, you'll need to enter the amount, frequency, date of transfers, and the funds involved.
    • If a client has an active request, you can change the amount, frequency, date, and funds.
    • After you submit the request, the client will get an email to sign. Once they e-sign, the request goes directly to Equitable.

  6. New flexibility with Equitable’s Term Exchange option Great news! Equitable® has just added our Term 30/65 plan as an option for term exchanges! This gives clients greater flexibility to choose a term plan that can adapt to their specific needs. 

    Clients can exchange their Equitable 10-year or 20-year term plans to a Term 30/65 plan as their financial needs change – without additional underwriting.

    What you need to know:

    •    A term plan that is a result of an exchange option cannot be exchanged again
    •    Exchange is available between the 1st and 5th coverage anniversary. 
         o    Only up to the insured’s 65th birthday for exchange to T20
         o    Only up to the insured’s 55th birthday for exchange to T30/65
    •    To request a term exchange, use the Term Exchange form.

  7. Spring update and dividend scale for 2025/2026
    Good news! The Equitable® Board of Directors has approved continuing our current dividend scale for the period of July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

    • The interest rate* we use to decide the dividend scale will stay at 6.40%.
    • Other factors used to decide the dividend scale will stay the same.
    • The interest rate for policies with dividends on deposit will stay at 3.50%.
    • The interest rate for most policy loans will stay at 6.50%. This applies to both new and existing policy loans, and automatic premium loans. It specifically applies to Equimax® policies with a 9-digit policy number that starts with either "3" or "8". Older policies may have different loan rates as they are based on the prime interest rate.

    *The dividend scale interest rate (DSIR) is different from the participating account (PAR) rate of return. The DSIR smooths out the ups and downs of the participating account experience. The PAR rate of return is the return on the investments in the participating account over the calendar year.

  8. Generating client policy information is easy with Equitable Did you know that Equitable® makes it easy to create a report with client policy information using Policy Inquiry? This tool makes a simple PDF that gives advisors and clients all the policy details they need to talk about investment goals.

    Key features of the Policy Inquiry tool:
    •  Exclude “Advisor Only Information” sections: Customize the report by leaving out sections meant only for advisors.
    •  Access active links to fund pages with risk ratings: Quickly go to fund pages and check risk ratings from the report.
    •  View calendar and compound returns: See a clear picture of a client's investment performance history with detailed return information.
    Generate the report just before meeting with a client to have the most current information. You can find this tool in the top right corner of the client’s policy page on EquiNet®. It is a great takeaway or follow-up item for client meetings.

    Clients can also access their policy information report anytime through Client Access®. Remind clients that they can view the report online as well.

  9. Exciting update: External transfer now available on EZtransact! We are thrilled to announce a new feature that will make your work easier and more efficient.

    What’s new this quarter? 
    The External Transfer function was introduced to Equitable’s EZtransact® on May 14.


    Benefits of this enhancement:                                                                                                                                                                          
    This feature is part of our strategic plan to help make transactions smoother for you. It was already available in EZcomplete®, and now it’s on EZtransact too. This means you won’t have to search for information about the relinquishing institution anymore. You can submit requests with ease.


    External Transfer Functionality:

    •  You can digitally request a transfer of funds from other institutions to Equitable.
    •  Information about the relinquishing institution will be available on EZtransact, so you don’t have to search for it.
    •  Both full and partial transfer requests are available.
    •  It’s available for registration types that don’t need the RC720/RC721 form and for individual accounts.

  10. Simplified Alternative ID Process is Now Available We have updated form 1710 to help you validate your client’s identification when you are not face-to-face, or if your client does not have one of the primary sources of ID.

    Form 1710, Verification of Identity for Policyowner, will simplify the ID collection process currently in place. This form will help you with the validation of ID and provide you with space to record the details. New with this form is the ability to validate your client’s ID over a video call by documenting the details of the ID, and then having your client hold up the document and read the information for you to validate. You no longer need to obtain and submit copies of the identification documents to Equitable.

    If your client requests the use of the Alternate ID process for a paper application, you can use this form to satisfy your identification validation requirements.
    For more information, please see Section 2 of Form 1710 entitled “Alternate ID”. As well, you can refer to the “how to complete form 1710” Guide for further details.
