Coming soon: A consistent login experience for Equitable Client Access and EquitableHealth.ca
Starting this month, users logging in to Equitable Client Access®, the secure website for our Individual Insurance and Wealth clients, will need to enter their email address instead of a username. This change will make the Client Access login experience easier and even more secure.
Streamlining the login experience for group benefits clients
When this change takes effect, clients who use the same email address to log into Client Access and EquitableHealth.ca will use one password for both sites.
If a client updates their password on one site, the password for the other site will also automatically update—so they’ll always use the same credentials for both platforms.
Clients who can’t remember the email address we have on file can click ‘Forgot email’ on the Client Access login page.
For added security, a client logging into Client Access may be prompted to enter a one-time code that’s sent to them via email before they can log in.
We will inform clients who have Client Access and EquitableHealth.ca accounts about these changes via email.
Safer, simpler account access
Logging in doesn’t need to include a password. Clients can save time logging in to Client Access and EquitableHealth.ca by creating a passkey.
Passkeys use a person’s face or fingerprint to quickly authenticate their identity – adding an extra layer of protection to their account and eliminating the need to enter a password. And by logging in to the Client Access site with a passkey, clients won’t be asked to enter a one-time code.
Creating a passkey is easy. The following video shows group benefits clients how to create a passkey to log in to EquitableHealth.ca.
Clients who use the same email address to log into Client Access and EquitableHealth.ca will be able to use the same passkey to access both sites. If someone has registered for both sites with different email addresses, they’ll need to create separate passkeys.
QDIPC updates terms and conditions for 2026
Every year, the Quebec Drug Insurance Pooling Corporation (QDIPC) reviews the terms and conditions for the high-cost pooling system in the province. Based on its latest review, QDIPC is revising its pooling levels and fees for 2026 to reflect trends in the volume of claims submitted to the pool, particularly catastrophic claims. We will apply the new pooling levels and fees to future renewal calculations that involve Quebec plan members.
Please note: QDIPC plans to redefine its group sizes in 2027. For more information on how group sizes will change in 2027, visit QDIPC's Terms and Conditions of Pooling.

The average FHSA balance is $3,899—Let’s help clients aim higher
The First Home Savings Account (FHSA) is a powerful tool for Canadians working toward homeownership. With tax-deductible contributions and tax-free withdrawals for qualifying purchases, it’s designed to make saving easier and more rewarding.
Yet, with a lifetime contribution limit of $40,000 and an annual cap of $8,000, many clients may not be taking full advantage. The average FHSA balance currently sits at just $3,899*, leaving plenty of room for growth.
Equitable offers three straightforward strategies to help clients boost their FHSA contributions and get closer to their first home—faster:
Set it and forget it with automated contributions
Consistency is key. By setting up automatic monthly deposits of up to $667, clients can effortlessly reach the annual maximum of $8,000. Equitable makes it easy to schedule recurring transfers from a bank account, helping clients stay on track without the hassle of manual deposits.
Make the most of windfalls with lump sum deposits
Bonuses, tax refunds, or inheritances can be powerful savings tools. Equitable allows clients to make one-time contributions anytime, helping them catch up on unused FHSA room from previous years and accelerate their savings.
Transfer from RRSPs—tax-free
Clients who’ve already been saving in an RRSP can transfer those funds into their FHSA—up to their available contribution room—without triggering taxes. This strategy lets them benefit from the FHSA’s tax-free withdrawal feature while staying within their overall savings plan.
Bonus Opportunity: Win big with the Close to Home contest
From May 1 to September 30, 2025, clients who contribute to an Equitable FHSA will be entered to win one of two $8,000 prizes. Whether opening a new account or making a contribution, it’s a great chance for clients to get closer to homeownership.
Advisors, your efforts matter too!
You have a chance to win a $1,000 prize if the client you are assisting, in alignment with their unique homeownership needs, is selected as a winner. At Equitable, we believe that when we grow together, success is mutual.
Don’t forget about Equitable’s user-friendly online application platform, EZcomplete®, or process an online transaction with ease using Equitable’s EZtransact®. These tools are fast, simple, and could bring clients closer to achieving their goals.

Equitable’s Close to Home Contest: No purchase necessary. Contest period May 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025. Clients enter by making a deposit to an Equitable FHSA during the contest period or by submitting a no-purchase entry. Two prizes of $8,000 CAD each to be drawn on October 15, 2025 will be awarded. The servicing advisor for the policy to which the selected entrants made the deposit is also an eligible winner and will receive a $1,000 CAD prize. For example, if an Equitable client is a winner of the $8,000 prize, the client’s servicing advisor wins a $1,000 prize. Open to legal residents of Canada of the age of majority. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. For full contest rules, including no-purchase method of entry, see here.

Saving time with our fully digital group benefits application
On May 1, 2023, we are launching Equitable BenefitsApply™, our fully digital group benefits application.
This enhancement to the benefits application process will help both you and your clients save time when applying for an Equitable Life group benefits policy. We designed and developed BenefitsApply with input and feedback from several advisors and clients, who tested the tool for themselves.
In most cases, BenefitsApply will replace our traditional paper implementation process.*
BenefitsApply eliminates the need for clients to complete and sign multiple, lengthy paper forms. Time-saving features for you and your clients include:- A fully digital online application that you can access wherever and whenever you need it,
- Pre-filled standard fields,
- Only one signature required from plan sponsors,
- A smart application that only includes the sections relevant to the client and the plan design they have chosen, and
- Automatic notifications of any missing fields.
We will continue improving BenefitsApply’s features based on feedback from the people who use it—you and your clients. We encourage you to share any feedback you have with your Group Account Executive or your Client Relationship Specialist.
*BenefitsApply is currently available for groups with up to four divisions and up to four classes. It is not available for myFlex Benefits plans, or for clients with a customized master application. -
Flexibility for a client’s ever-changing life
Term life insurance offers full and partial conversion options to meet changing needs
Life is always changing—whether a client is buying their first home, welcoming a new baby, or sending the kids off to college. While most clients think of term life insurance as a solution to meet a temporary need, they don’t necessarily consider the power of term conversion options to meet their future needs.
Full and partial conversion options can help meet a client’s needs as their life journey and insurance needs change, without having to provide proof of continued good health.
Full conversion:
• With full conversion, clients can convert all of their term coverage from their policy or rider to permanent life insurance. This allows the client to lock in a level premium rate for life.
Partial conversion:
• With a partial conversion, clients can convert a portion of their term coverage from their policy or rider to a permanent plan. This allows them to help cover off both a short-term need and also provides lifetime protection.
Did you know?
Our partial conversion with a term rider carryover is now more flexible than ever. Read more about it here!

Savings & Retirement Policy and Procedure updates regarding Electronic Signatures
We have updated our policies and procedures regarding electronic signatures in the Savings and Retirement department. We are now able to accept electronically signed documents, from all major third-party signing vendors.
Including esign@equitable.ca as a non-signing reviewer is the preferred method as it ensures the security embedded documents are accurately and immediately available for Equitable. We will be automatically notified when signing is complete and will download eSigned forms immediately for processing. Including esign@equitable.ca as a non-signing reviewer is secure, quick, and efficient. Documents no longer need to be emailed to us – eSigned documents are sent directly to us once all signatures are completed, therefore you do not need to notify us once the documents are signed.
When esign@equitable.ca is not used to submit electronically signed documents, the following criteria are required:- The original signed form and audit trail with all the security features intact
- The email address used to sign must match what is in our files (as provided on the application, for electronic policy delivery or through previous communication). If an email address has changed, or we don’t have an email contact for the signer, we will follow up for confirmation.
A guide on how to use esign@equitable.ca can be found here.
Please note that Equitable does not accept digital signatures (images or fonts of a signature which are not stamped).

New “Update Payment” feature for banking changes has launched!
Great news! Equitable® has launched a new self-serve "Update Payment" feature in Client Access and on EquiNet®. This new online process enables clients and advisors to easily submit key banking change requests for eligible insurance policies*, with no need to complete a physical form.
What’s new?
A new "Update Payment" feature is now available on Client Access and on EquiNet under Policy Inquiry. It allows clients (and advisors) to easily submit requests for the following three transactions online:
1. STOP pre-authorized payments.
2. RESUME pre-authorized payments on overdue accounts.
3. CHANGE which bank we withdraw money from.
The new "Update Payment" feature replaces the previous "Edit" button in Client Access. The old banking change options are still available in the client’s Profile section. They can be used to request a change to the payment withdrawal date, as that option is not yet available with the new Update Payment feature.
How it works!
When a change is requested using the new Update Payment feature, our Operations team receives it online. They will review and process the changes within three business days, as per Equitable’s current service standards.
The Update Payment feature in Client Access is a self-serve process. However, if a client prefers, their advisor or an Equitable Customer Service associate can assist them by submitting the request on their behalf. Clients will be asked to sign to approve any such requests that are submitted by someone other than the owner of the policy.
*The Update Payment transactions are only available for eligible policies: those that have not lapsed, are not on Automatic Premium Loan, and are not owned by a corporation or other entity.
We trust that these digital enhancements will help make the client and advisor experience even simpler and more efficient.
