  3. NEW Process for Applications for Term Conversion to Equimax with Excelerator Deposit Option (EDO) Great news! We are now allowing term conversions to Equimax with EDO with no additional underwriting provided the maximum net amount at risk (NAAR) for the new Equimax policy does not exceed the Term coverage amount being converted.

We have created an easy-to-use Excel worksheet (1616 worksheet) to help you confirm that the conversion to Equimax with EDO satisfies the NAAR requirement and will assist you with properly completing the Application for Term Conversion (Form 1616). This worksheet is only for use in situations where the term coverage is to be converted to Equimax with EDO and must be submitted along with the signed illustration and completed Application for Term Conversion. The maximum NAAR can be found on the Underwriting page of the illustration report.

The signed Equimax illustration, application and term conversion worksheet should be sent to: inforcelifemail@equitable.ca.

  5. Request standard inforce illustrations with the click of a button
At Equitable®, we are making continuous improvements to our advisor and client services. We are excited to share an upcoming enhancement.

    What’s new?

Beginning on August 15, 2024 , you and your clients will be able to request standard, current inforce illustrations—at any time—for your clients’ whole life and universal life policies with the click of a button.

Currently, standard inforce illustrations for whole life and universal life policies are autogenerated only on policy anniversaries. These inforce illustrations will no longer be autogenerated after August 15, 2024.

Please note: For specialized illustrations—such as   those with segregated funds, D2000/D2000+ policies, policies where the insured’s age falls outside existing illustration parameters, or policies that were originally from Clarica—you will still need to use the inforce illustration request form  for whole life or universal life policies.

    How do I access this?

You can request an inforce illustration by logging into EquiNet® and going to the Policy Details page via Policy Inquiry. Under the Coverage tab, you will now see a button called Inforce Illustration Request. Click the button to request the illustration. Learn more about how to access here

  9. New 350 Life and CI Applications

On August 2nd, 2023, Equitable Life® will be updating the privacy and legal sections on some forms. This includes the form 350 Paper Application for Life and/or Critical Illness Insurance. This change will also be applied on our websites and our online application EZComplete®. These changes are part of Bill 64. The Bill is about the protection of personal and private information in Quebec. This will take effect on September 1st, 2023.

Due to this change, we ask all advisors to use the latest version dated May 2023 of the paper application after August 2nd. Applications in Quebec must use the lastest version from September 1, 2023 onwards.

For all regions outside Quebec, we will support a transition period from ‘old’ to ‘new’ applications until December 31st, 2023. After this date, we will no longer accept older versions of our Life and Critical Illness application.

To make sure you are using the latest version of the application, check the date on the title page. It should say May 2023. See the image below:

  10. New “Update Payment” feature for banking changes has launched! Great news! Equitable® has launched a new self-serve "Update Payment" feature in Client Access and on EquiNet®. This new online process enables clients and advisors to easily submit key banking change requests for eligible insurance policies*, with no need to complete a physical form.

    What’s new?

A new "Update Payment" feature is now available on Client Access and on EquiNet under Policy Inquiry. It allows clients (and advisors) to easily submit requests for the following three transactions online:

    1.  STOP pre-authorized payments.

    2.  RESUME pre-authorized payments on overdue accounts.

    3.  CHANGE which bank we withdraw money from.

The new "Update Payment" feature replaces the previous "Edit" button in Client Access. The old banking change options are still available in the client’s Profile section. They can be used to request a change to the payment withdrawal date, as that option is not yet available with the new Update Payment feature.

    How it works!

When a change is requested using the new Update Payment feature, our Operations team receives it online.  They will review and process the changes within three business days, as per Equitable’s current service standards.

The Update Payment feature in Client Access is a self-serve process. However, if a client prefers, their advisor or an Equitable Customer Service associate can assist them by submitting the request on their behalf. Clients will be asked to sign to approve any such requests that are submitted by someone other than the owner of the policy.

*The Update Payment transactions are only available for eligible policies: those that have not lapsed, are not on Automatic Premium Loan, and are not owned by a corporation or other entity.

We trust that these digital enhancements will help make the client and advisor experience even simpler and more efficient.
